Notes
Notes allow you to capture and share knowledge directly at the relevant clause in the Affinitext Platform. Personal insight becomes shared, searchable corporate knowledge β accessible to other users in your group at the point in the contract where it matters most.

1 Adding a note
To add a note, highlight the relevant text in the clause. A floating menu appears β select Notes.
Complete the fields in the note window:
- Title β a brief label for the note
- Note text β your knowledge, observation, or commentary
- Visibility β by default, notes are private (visible only to you). To share the note, select Shared
You can also attach supporting files to a note. See Special characters in attachments for filename restrictions.
Click Save to create the note.

2 Sharing notes
When sharing a note, you can share with:
- The entire user group β tick the box next to the group name
- Individual users β tick the box next to each user's name
Notes shared with a group are visible to all members of that group. Notes not shared remain private to you.
3 Accessing notes
Once a note is saved, a note icon appears on the right-hand side of the clause, flagging it for attention.

Notes are accessible in three ways:
(i) At the clause β click the note icon to open the note directly
(ii) Notes tab β from the bar at the top of the Table of Contents, select the Notes tab to view all notes in the current book without scrolling
(iii) Note Summary Report β accessible from the Platform homepage, this report shows all notes you have permission to see across the entire Platform. Filter by book, note type, title, project, or any other column heading to narrow the results

4 Filtering notes
In the Note Summary Report, use the column heading filters to narrow results by book, note type, title, project, or other attributes. This makes it straightforward to find specific notes or review all notes on a particular document.
